Where is the best place to take baby portraits?
Great question. And fortunately, there are countless great answers. As a member of the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, a follower of the Three Rivers Park District and all-around nature freak, I know all of the great places to shoot baby portraits in Minnesota. But, let’s drill this down a bit. What makes for a great location? Is it the landscapers or the time of year? Is it the type of flower or water-feature?
The Baby Portrait above was taken at http://www.comozooconservatory.org/. Specifically, just beyond an old Oak and in the midst of what most would consider to be weeds.
Beautiful locations abound in our great state of Minnesota. Not all things view with the eye are as beautiful when photographed. An good mix of light, perspective, and a handful of other elements are what make a Portrait opposed to a picture.
Trained eyes see beyond what is right before us. Train yourself to see what is not necessarily obvious. Make sure what is obvious is truly going to support your subject in a flattering way. Most of all, enjoy the moment.
