Our Memories
In August 2023, my mother found peace as she concluded her journey through the pathways of dementia. To know me is to see her reflection. My energy, my passion for damn near everything, my excitement, and above all else, my creativity come from the mind, heart, and soul of this remarkable woman.
It was a cruel irony: a professional photographer who has spent decades capturing memories for others was forced to watch a loved one lose 80 years of memories in such a short amount of time.
Although anger was a natural response, it was ultimately an empty one. As time passed and healing began, I realized that her memory need not fade; instead, it could become a call to action. And so, “Our Memories” was born.
How it works
10% of each studio sale is donated to the Dementia Society of America.
Who it benefits
Those with dementia, their families, caregivers, and various research programs.
How you can help
You can add a donation to your purchase. However, the studio contributes with each sale. Additional support is by no means an obligation
The help provided
The Dementia Society of America supports Research, Care and Support, Advocacy, Education, Awareness, and Fundraising. No donation is too small. For example:
- An informational brochure costs approximately $1.17 to produce and distribute. A Business Portrait Session through my studio will provide the funds to create 30 brochures.
